Supportive Art Friends - A purpose driven blog

I learned from a very early age that I could express a whole range of emotion through art. It was truly an ah ha! moment. I could create art in a vacumme of emotions, getting all of my joy, pain, loneliness and so much more out in a piece of art and I didn't get in trouble. Huh! I could vent, have an opinion and there were no negative reprocussions. This was earth shattering.
I have worked out so many life events through quilts and paintings. This was a God given gift. How wonderful to put your whole energy and passion into the process of art and working through pain and joy, loneliness and frustration. Freedom! Absolute, astouding, life altering letting go of all of the tough issues. Time to change my life and direction through art getting rid of all of the frustrations and seeing that there can be a different life for me. Seeing a lght at the end of the day and it's not a train! I am a survivor in the truest sense.
So I am going to share my art and relate the meaning of the piece as I can. Some I will just have to post for interpretation until I can face those feeling. I encourage any of you to find your art voice and share.
I want to get together a real life Cincy group to chat and help each other reach deep into your art and see the isssues you are dealing with.

This is a representational quilt that I made during a horrible period of turmoil. Each element of the quilt represents a feeling, an emotion and a person. Basically, love taking flight and those glorious people who make up the patchwork of our lives being left on the ground. The quilt is enormous, yet I only spent a few days making it.
